Nicholas Chavez’s Temporary Exit from GENERAL HOSPITAL Detailed
Ever since it was announced that Nicholas Chavez had been cast as Lyle Menendez for season two of the Ryan Murphy Netflix anthology series MONSTER, fans have been dreading when the Daytime Emmy winner would be taking a break from his role of Spencer on GENERAL HOSPITAL. And unfortunately, that day is coming up soon!
TV Line is reporting that Chavez will last air on Wednesday, Jan. 31, after which, Spencer will be off the canvas for “several months.” This tracks as photos of the talented young actor on the MONSTER set have been floating around recently, so he’s already hard at work filming that series.
Currently, Spencer has accompanied Trina to Paris where she is to begin studying at the Sorbonne University for a semester. But as Tabyana Ali is reportedly not taking time off from GH at the same time as Chavez, it’s unclear how Spencer’s absence will be written into the storyline. Perhaps something to do with Esme? Or Nikolas?
Thankfully, this is only a break of a few months and Chavez will be back on GH soon to continue telling Spencer’s storyline. And fans can look forward to seeing him starring as Lyle Menendez alongside Cooper Koch as Erik Menendez in MONSTERS: THE LYLE AND ERIK MENENDEZ STORY. The cast also includes Javier Bardem and Chloe Sevigny as Jose and Kitty Menendez, who were murdered by their sons in 1989.
Unfortunately, as shooting for season two of MONSTER is still ongoing, Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for the series. But it is promised sometime in 2024, and Chavez has already shared a teaser for the show on his Instagram.
