GH’s Nicholas Chavez Lands an Exciting New Role!

Tags:

Congratulations are in order for GENERAL HOSPITAL star Nicholas Chavez (Spencer), who has landed a very high-profile role in an upcoming series for Netflix!

The second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series MONSTER will be focusing on the Menendez brothers, and Deadline is reporting that Chavez has been cast as Lyle while Cooper Koch will be playing Erik. “I’m elated for my TV nephew Nicholas Chavez and his new series gig,” Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) tweeted when the news broke. “It’s exceptional casting. I love seeing young, talented, dedicated actors I work with have other great, challenging opportunities. He’s up to it.”

The first season of MONSTER focused on notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, played by Evan Peters, and this one will tell the story of the brothers who were convicted for murdering their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez. The siblings claimed that the reason for their actions was due to physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.

Chavez made his daytime debut when he took over the role of Spencer Cassadine in July 2021, and has become a fan favorite for his pairing with Tabyana Ali’s Trina. A rep for GH told Soap Opera Digest: “When this production begins, we support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to GH once his project is wrapped.”

Due to the ongoing writers’ strike and the imminent threat of an actor strike, most film and television productions are currently on hold. So at this time, it’s unknown when MONSTER will begin filming and Chavez will take some time off from GH. So keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com and we’ll keep you updated!
