Don’t be confused if Brook Lynn looks a little different on GENERAL HOSPITAL because the character is being temporarily recast! Beginning with the Aug. 6 episode, actress Briana Lane will be filling in for Amanda Setton, who is taking maternity leave as she is expecting her third child.
Viewers might recognize Lane from her guest roles on numerous primetime series like CSI, LAW & ORDER: LA, BONES, HAWAII FIVE-0, 911, AND AMERICAN HORROR STORY. She also played Dr. Rounds in the ABC Family series YOUNG & HUNGRY and appeared in the films Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta! and A Kind of Magic. Playing Brook Lynn on GH isn’t technically her daytime debut, either, as her IMDb page lists a 2006 appearance as Hope’s Double on DAYS OF OUR LIVES right at the beginning of her acting career!
The character of Brook Lynn Ashton was introduced back in 1996 and was played by Brooke Radding until 2001. In 2004, Adrianne León took over until 2006 and returned from 2010-11. Setton made her debut when Ned’s daughter was reintroduced in November 2019. ABC has not announced any details of exactly how long Lane will be playing Brook Lynn, but once Setton’s maternity leave is over, she’ll be back to reclaim her role. So stay tuned to see how Lane puts her own stamp on the feisty character!
