Cameron Mathison Joins the Cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL!
A familiar face is coming to Port Charles as Cameron Mathison joins the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL! Best known to soap fans for his role as Ryan Lavery on ALL MY CHILDREN, Mathison has recently been co-host of Hallmark talk show HOME AND FAMILY. With that series’ cancellation, he is now free to return to acting, which he will be doing on GH! Unfortunately, at this point, there are no details regarding what character Mathison might be playing, or when he would begin airing.
Mathison joined the cast of AMC back in January 1998 and remained with the soap until its cancellation in 2011, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002 and 2005. During his time on the ABC sudser he also appeared on DANCING WITH THE STARS, placing fifth in 2007.
In addition to work in TV movies like A Christmas To Remember, Very, Very Valentine, and Love, of Course, as well as the Murder, She Baked series — opposite DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Alison Sweeney (Sami) — Mathison also explored hosting. He worked freelance with GOOD MORNING AMERICA for a few years before signing on as a regular correspondent. He then moved to ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and then joined Debbie Matenopoulos to co-host HOME AND FAMILY for the Hallmark Channel.
Keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com as we bring you further updates on this developing story, including who Mathison might be playing on GH and when he is scheduled to make his arrival in Port Charles. This is going to be exciting!
