Carly Hughes Cast on GENERAL HOSPITAL!

As the case against the Deceptor goes to trial, Deception is going to need a talented attorney to represent them in court. And while Walt Willey is reprising his role as Jackson Montgomery for the other side, Lucy and her team will have their own lawyer, Elise.

In their new issue, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Deception’s attorney will be played by Broadway and television star Carly Hughes. Look for her to face off against Willey’s character during the episodes airing the week of Monday, Aug. 28.

Hughes launched her career appearing in Broadway shows like Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Ragtime, Ghost The Musical, Pippin, Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, Cabin in the Sky, and Chicago. But viewers might also recognize her from her starring role as Angela in the ABC comedy series AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE or from her episodes of primetime sudser, DYNASTY, where she played Geneva Abbott. She also starred as Jackie in the Lifetime holiday movie The Christmas Edition.

While Hughes’ role will last only as long as the trial, Lynn Herring (Lucy) would love to see her come back again! “She just played everything so well and is just adorable and charming,” she enthused to Digest. “I told Mark [Teschner, GH’s casting director], ‘She’s got to come back!’”

Well, Diane and Scott can’t handle every case that winds up going before a judge on the soap! So who knows what the future might hold! And stay tuned to see if Elise can successfully defend Deception against the lawsuit!
