Walt Willey Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL!
Looks like there’s still more to the story! Walt Willey is returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Jackson Montgomery for another appearance! “Yes, it’s true!” the actor enthused on social media. “I’m back on GH for a couple more shows! Join me as I join the ‘Port Charles Bunch’ on Aug. 29 and 30! Lots of other surprises in store, so stay tuned (as they say)!”
Willey debuted as attorney Jackson Montgomery when he joined the cast of ALL MY CHILDREN back in 1987 and remained in the role until the soap went off the air in 2011. And appearing on GH wasn’t his first crossover, either! In 1996, Willey brought the character over to sister soap THE CITY for a handful of episodes.
Willey first appeared on GH in the July 12 episode when Lucy and Felicia went to Pine Valley in search of answers about Martin’s past. He was also in the July 17 and 18 episodes as Lucy attempted to distract Jackson so that Felicia could break into his office and get a look at Martin’s file. Unfortunately, they were caught in the act and arrested, but a quick phone call to Anna Devane helped to set things right.
As soon as the news broke that Willey would be bringing his beloved AMC character back to the screen, he was overwhelmed by the love and support from fans on social media. And following the airing of his last episode, Willey wasn’t anticipating a return engagement but wasn’t ruling one out, either!
“Please keep letting TPTB at GH know your feelings, lest they forget!” he urged his fans. “As for me, I would be honored to rejoin my ABC Daytime family! And that family includes you!”
So look for Jackson to return to the GH canvas again at the end of August, and hopefully, this time he’ll come to Port Charles instead of Port Charles coming to Pine Valley!
