Chad Duell Nearly Welcomed His Son Prematurely
In about a month, GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Chad Duell (Michael) and his partner, Luana Lucci, will welcome their first child. But the parents-to-be nearly welcomed their son nearly three months before his due date, according to a new Instagram post shared by Lucci.
In her post, Duell’s girlfriend shared a mirror selfie of her beautiful baby bump while wearing a bikini as well as a 3D sonogram image of their baby, whom she’s affectionately nicknamed Little D. “I can’t believe I’ll be 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow,” the glowing mom marveled. “Little D has already shown me how strong he is. Throughout my entire pregnancy, we were told he might arrive prematurely, and that scare almost became reality at 28 weeks. One of the scariest days of my life.”
It’s understandable why Lucci was so frightened, as her pregnancy journey has not been an easy one. The flight attendant previously revealed that she had been diagnosed with a large subchorionic hematoma (bleeding under one of the membranes that surround the fetus) and placenta previa, which occurs when the placenta lies very low in the uterus. Thankfully, Lucci did not deliver the couple’s son at the start of her third trimester. “With a touch of miracle and the help of skilled doctors, he decided to stay put a little longer,” she explained. “Now, as we approach full term, I’m overjoyed to have come this far in my pregnancy.”
Lucci confessed that seeing her and Duell’s son “defy the odds” and grow stronger with each passing day “fills my heart with indescribable joy. Those tiny kicks and flutters remind me of the incredible journey we’ve been on together. Soon, we’ll be holding our precious miracle in our arms, and every moment of worry will transform into cherished memories.”
Duell went public with his relationship with Lucci last October then announced in March that he was going to be a father. Since Lucci has documented most of the milestones of her pregnancy, the couple has taken GH fans along on their journey. “Here’s to the remarkable little soul who has already brought so much love and strength into our lives, even before making an official entrance,” she concluded. “You’re our tiny superhero, Little D, and I can’t wait to embark on this beautiful chapter of parenthood with you.”
We hope all goes well for Lucci during these final exciting weeks of her pregnancy, and we can’t wait to see the first photos of Baby Boy Duell!
