Emme Rylan Promises She’s Not Dead!

Tags:

Fans of soap alum Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu, GENERAL HOSPITAL; ex-Abby, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) know that she is very active on social media. But the actress took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that the internet seems to be out to get her right now! First, she had to reassure fans that she wasn’t actually dead! “Guys, I’m alive!” she shared along with a post that someone had shared with the headline: “Just a few hours ago! Emme Rylan has passed away at the age of 40!”

Of course, while promising that she is really most sincerely not dead, Rylan kept her sense of humor about the whole thing. “I mean, I’m packing which feels like death,” she joked, “but not actually something that kills you!”  Then she also had to laugh at the 21 likes that the post had received. “Wait a second,” she exclaimed. “21 likes? Well, I hope you 21 people have a lovely day!”

But that wasn’t where the insanity stopped because she continued on in her Stories to explain an absolutely wild situation that had some random people just wandering into her yard and into her home! Rylan, partner Don Money, and their kids are currently in the process of packing up to move to St. Louis, and it appears that someone took the actual real estate listing for their rental home and created their own fake listing in order to scam innocent families.

“Oh, the internet is like, how can I mess with Em and Don today,” she said with a rueful chuckle. “So they make a fake ad and list the house for half the price. They start taking applications from people at $150 an application and tell one family to just come on over. So we’re just in the house and there’s a family of five in the back yard just scoping out the pool. They come into the house. They were very nice. Then they leave. We don’t know what’s going on. We thought maybe the landlord sent someone over to see it and just didn’t give us a heads up.

“A couple hours later, the same family comes back because this person told them that they were approved and the house was theirs to move into and they’d be getting the key on Saturday,” Rylan continued. “Stole more money from them… had them put down a deposit. I explained it to them obviously, and they were nice. And they were really upset because their money is gone. Completely stolen. That is disgusting. Seriously.”

Hopefully, once Rylan and her family are in St. Louis, they can settle into their new home and leave all this craziness behind. “We only have to make it through two more days here,” she reported. “But apparently the internet is saying that I’m dead and that people should just come right on into our house. So please don’t. Please don’t come into my house.” Then she laughed, because what else can you do?

Please join us in wishing them a safe trip to their new home in Missouri and an end to all this internet insanity!
