When ABC’s On the Red Carpet spoke to some of the stars of General Hospital before the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards, they also spoke to the soap’s executive producer, Frank Valentini. When asked what he could tease about what viewers can expect to see coming up on GH, he thought for a moment and then dropped a particularly juicy bombshell!

“I’ll tease that a former cast member is coming back,” he revealed, “and I think the audience will go crazy for him.”

Valentini put extra emphasis on “him” to make sure fans knew that it was definitely an actor, not an actress coming back to the soap, and the speculation started flying fast and furious!

Anthony Geary
While many fans would love to see Anthony Geary back as Luke, he’s happily retired and living in Amsterdam.YouTube

While some suspect he’s simply referring to John J. York’s return as Mac following his medical leave, that return has already been announced by GH, and since he just took time off to receive cancer treatments, York isn’t exactly a former cast member.

The other fan-favorite guesses so far are Bryan Craig bringing Morgan back from the dead and Jonathan Jackson returning as Lucky. Some also wondered if Roger Howarth would be coming back as yet another new character or if perhaps Ted King would resurrect Alcazar as the real head of Pikeman!

“I would say to the fans: keep watching, keep supporting us, and keep us on our toes,” Valentini declared. So stay tuned to see who comes back to Port Charles, but first, share your opinion in our online poll below!
