John J. York Is Back at General Hospital!

Some great news for General Hospital fans — John J. York is back at the soap’s studio! “Mac is back!” the show teased as it shared some photos of the actor wearing a “Mac is back” T-shirt posing happily with TV wife Kristina Wagner (Felicia) and TV son (though Mac doesn’t yet know that), Josh Kelly (Cody).

Fans were concerned when York announced that he would be taking a “brief hiatus” from GH back in September 2023. And shortly after that, he revealed that the reason why was because he was undergoing treatment for blood and bone marrow cancers.

Thankfully, York then reported that they had found a match and he was able to receive a life-saving blood stem cell transplant. In December 2023, he showed off his bald head and updated fans that while he was still in the middle of everything, treatments were going well and he hoped to be back on the soap by late spring or early summer.

As you can see in the photo that GH shared, York’s hair is already growing back and he is looking great, which is wonderful news. If he’s just started shooting episodes again now, given the soap’s shooting schedule, viewers can expect to see Mac back on their screens sometime in mid-June!

Felicia suspected that Cody was lying about the results of the paternity test he ran, but Sasha was able to keep her off the scent. However, once Mac returns from his assignment, he may have some questions of his own and hopefully, the truth will finally be revealed so that Mac and Cody can be father and son! (Although maybe not right away, since Mac might be a little angry at Cody for lying to him all this time!)
