GH Alum Robert Palmer Watkins Reveals His Exciting New Role!
Look for GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Robert Palmer Watkins to star in the new Netflix dystopian action movie Uglies! “Bucket list actor moment!” he exclaimed on Instagram when the news broke. “Honored to be working with Joey King, Jillian Murray, Chase Stokes, Laverne Cox, and the entire cast and crew in this epic project. The Netflix film is based on the YA book series from Scott Westerfeld about a world where everyone is considered an “ugly” until they turn 16, at which point they undergo compulsory cosmetic surgery to be turned “pretty.” In the movie, directed by McG, Watkins will be playing Sol Youngblood, husband of Murray’s Ellie Youngblood, and father to Joey King’s Tally Youngblood. Naturally, Tally rebels against society’s forced conformity!
GH fans still miss Watkins from his 2015-17 run as Dillon Quartermaine on the soap. But after leaving daytime, the actor pursued his music career, signing a record deal and releasing some singles and music videos. He also starred in the thriller Last Three Days and played Lt. Frank Newton on THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND.
