The visit was far too short when Ryan Carnes brought Lucas back to GENERAL HOSPITAL in January for mom Bobbie’s memorial service. But fans who want to see more of the handsome actor are in for a treat because the actor is about to begin production on a new movie!

Passionflix — the streaming service co-founded by moviemaker Tosca Musk that turns popular romance books into full-length feature films — announced that Carnes has landed the lead role of Tristan Cole in the upcoming film The Air He Breathes, based on the popular 2015 novel by Brittainy C. Cherry.

The haunting movie follows Elizabeth (to be played by Kelcie Stranahan), a young widow who returns to her hometown following her husband’s death in a car accident, hoping for a fresh start for her and her daughter. Shortly upon returning home, Liz crosses paths with Tristan, her mysterious new neighbor, who has a reputation around town for being cold and cruel. In reality, Tristan is suffering from survivor’s guilt and grieving the death of his own wife and son in a car accident. As she and Tristan share their grief and start a romantic relationship, Liz discovers that she’s able to breathe a little easier when he’s around. But when they discover a link between the car accident that claimed the lives of their loved ones, will the truth tear them apart?

“Well, the day has come when I’m finally able to announce that I have the honor and privilege to join Tosca Musk’s Passionflix family for the film adaptation of Brittainy Cherry’s riveting and heart-wrenching The Air He Breathes,” Carnes shared on his Instagram page. “I can’t wait to step into Tristan’s shoes under the guidance of director Rachel Annette Helson. This is gonna be a fun one!”

On her Facebook page, Cherry shared her excitement about the casting news. “We officially have our Tristan,” she announced. “I truly couldn’t imagine a better actor to take on the role of our Tristan. Ryan is a gift to have on this film, and the moment I saw him, I knew this was kismet. I am so honored to have him playing the role of a character who forever changed my life. The gratitude runs deep.”

Production on The Air He Breathes is scheduled to begin on April 8 in Atlanta, Georgia. Check back with SoapsInDepth.com for updates on when the movie will premiere.
