GH Star Sofia Mattsson Welcomes a Beautiful Baby Girl
Please join us in congratulating GENERAL HOSPITAL star Sofia Mattsson (Sasha) on the birth of her baby girl! The actress publicly announced her second pregnancy back in April, when she was already far enough along that viewers had noticed her character holding large bags and wearing coats to cover her growing baby bump, so it’s only fair she waited a bit to share the news of her little girl’s birth!
“Couldn’t ask for a better birthday than spending it with my girl who’s a little over one month today!” Mattsson declared on Instagram, sharing a beautiful photo of the precious new addition to her family. “Born May 21. Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Feeling very grateful.”
Mattson and her husband, Actor Thomas Payton, already have a son, who is about to turn two next month. And just like this time, the actress didn’t announce her pregnancy until just about a month before she gave birth.
And Mattsson has been hard at work right up until giving birth. Just about a week before her baby girl entered the world, the GH star was still hard at work on set! “Filming at 38-plus weeks!” she exclaimed on May 12. “Let’s hope my water doesn’t break during the scenes. Would probably make a great blooper, though!”
Naturally, the comments were flooded with well wishes and congratulations from fans and friends both for Mattson’s birthday on June 24 and the birth of her baby girl! “Ohhh, so beautiful!” exclaimed Laura Wright (Carly). “Happy birthday!”
