GH’s Sofia Mattson Is Pregnant With Her Second Child!
Ever since Sasha began wearing baggy coats and carrying big bags around with her, GENERAL HOSPITAL fans immediately wondered, “Is Sofia Mattson pregnant?” Well, the answer may have been obvious to viewers for a while now, but the actress finally made the happy news public!
“Many of you guessed it already,” she joked on Instagram. “Baby girl due in May!”
Mattson and her husband, actor Thomas Payton, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, back in July 2021, though she didn’t share the news until August. And just like this time, she only publicly announced her pregnancy a month ahead of the baby’s birth. The actress clearly prefers to keep her private life relatively private.
The Swedish actress earned legions of devoted fans when she joined the cast of GH back in September 2018 as Sasha Gilmore. And while the soap wrote in her first pregnancy (though Sasha didn’t give birth until Mattsson returned from maternity leave, so she had to wear a fake baby bump for the remainder of her character’s pregnancy), this time around, Sasha is currently single, so the show is covering it up. While Mattsson is pregnant, Sasha isn’t.
On the plus side, Mattson delaying the public confirmation of her pregnancy means that we only have to wait a month until her daughter is born. Hopefully, this time she shares the beautiful baby pictures sooner than last time!
