GH’s Johnny Wactor Reportedly Shot and Killed During Robbery

In a tragic turn of events, General Hospital alum Johnny Wactor (ex-Brando) was shot and killed during a robbery on the morning of May 25 in downtown Los Angeles. He was 37.

TMZ is reporting that his mother, Scarlett, told them that Wactor was with a co-worker when they saw three men tampering with his car. Apparently, he did not try to fight or stop the alleged thieves, but they shot him before taking off. Paramedics took him to the hospital where Wactor was declared dead. While police have not provided descriptions or details of the suspects in this horrible and senseless crime, Wactor’s mother hopes that they are brought to justice.

Wactor’s career began with some episodes of Army Wives and Siberia as well as other primetime series and movies, but he found success when he joined the cast of GH as Brando Corbin in 2020. The character’s pairing with Sofia Mattsson’s Sasha Gilmore became very popular with fans who were left heartbroken when Brando was killed off in September 2022.

Wactor is survived by his mother and his brothers Lance and Grant. Our thoughts are with them and the rest of his friends and family during this terrible time.
