GH’s Kathleen Gati Shares Details of Her New Movie!

Although GENERAL HOSPITAL fans would love nothing more than to see Kathleen Gati back on their screens as Dr. Liesl Obrecht, they took heart that they would soon be able to see her in a new movie. Back at the beginning of March, she teased that she was “busy acting in a beautiful movie,” but couldn’t say more because of non-disclosure agreements.

Now, just over a month later, the actress has shared a little bit more information about this exciting new project. “Back from Europe after working with an incredible cast and crew on a film that takes place during WWII,” Gati revealed. “Can’t share more details at this time, but really loved the experience.”

GH fans fell for Gati as soon as she debuted as the devious Dr. Obrecht back in 2012, and helped turn what was meant to be a short-term villain role into something more developed and substantial. During her time on the soap, Gati has continued to appear in numerous other roles, including television series like THE FOSTERS, BEING MARY JANE, ARROW, and FEAR THE WALKING DEAD: FLIGHT 462 as well as movies like A Mermaid for Christmas and American Dream.

The last time Obrecht was seen on GH was back in December 2023 when she rebuffed Scott’s attempt to win back her heart. Perhaps now that she’s done shooting this film, Gati can scrub back in for some more episodes in the near future.

Hopefully, Gati will be able to tell us all more about this new movie role soon. So far, the only additional information fans have been able to pry out of her is that she used a British accent for her role!
