GH’s Kristina Wagner Thanks Pal Finola Hughes for her Support

It’s been more than half a year since GENERAL HOSPITAL icon Kristina Wagner (Felicia) lost her younger son, Harrison Wagner, to an accidental overdose. And while the grieving process is a long and difficult road to navigate, the actress recently revealed who those in her inner circle are who have helped her find the strength to put one foot in front of the other each day.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Wagner shared a photo of her, castmate Finola Hughes (Anna), and a friend, Glenn, taken while the trio was out for a hike with a dog. Based on the hashtags the GH star included, the three were hiking the Sunset Ridge Trail and the Echo Mountain Trail around the White City Ruins in Angeles National Forest, with the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains as a stunning backdrop behind them.

All three are smiling in the photo, and Wagner’s face is radiantly glowing despite the heavy topic she talks about in the caption. “Since the horrible death of my son seven months ago, I often experience pride that fills my heart so full I think it may burst,” the GH star wrote. “Pride at my oldest son, Peter, for all he achieves despite the odds. Pride with my community of friends for their love, compassion, empathy, and thoughtfulness.”

Despite the piece of herself that she lost when Harrison died, Wagner added that she’s been purposeful in not being consumed by her heartbreak. “I have noticed others in my life and strengthened those bonds. Watching Peter and his dad carry on encourages me to carry on,” she continued, before giving a special shout-out to the dear friends in the photo with her. “Pictured above are two of my closest friends, Finola and Glenn. They have encouraged me on the journey of grief from the start. And Jonny W the dog ❤️.”

Harrison, who struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol, passed away on June 6, 2022. Shortly afterward, his parents Kristina and Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH), established the Harrison Wagner Scholarship Fund with the New Life House Recovery Community, hoping to help other young men who struggle with the same issues as their son had.
