GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kirsten Storms Tests Positive for COVID

Tags:

With the omicron variant tearing through the world like a wildfire, COVID cases are on the rise around the globe and people everywhere are testing positive for the virus, including GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kirsten Storms (Maxie). “Three days ago I tested positive for COVID after thinking I had bronchitis,” she revealed in an Instagram story. “I was really sick the first day, day and a half, and now every time I sleep, when I wake up, I feel a little bit better.”

The actress went into a little more detail a little while later when she joined former GH co-star and real-life BFF Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu) for a virtual Instagram chat with fans. “I was gonna go over to Emme’s house the other night for dinner and I was starting to not feel very good,” Storms explained. “And then the next morning I woke up feeling just terrible. I thought I had bronchitis. I went to urgent care and they tested me for COVID and I tested positive.

“Cue a swift decline in how I felt,” she added with a chuckle. “Like, 12 hours later, I was talking to Emme, just telling her I thought I was gonna die.”

Rylan then joked with Storms that if she had come over for dinner that night, then they could be quarantining together, knitting and crocheting. But she rethought that idea when her gal pal reminded her that her entire family, including her three kids, would also have gotten sick!

“I am vaccinated,” Storms confirmed. “I still got it. I’m not sure where I got it from. I moved the day before Christmas Eve… that was fun… I was pretty exhausted after that, too, so I feel like my immune system was already compromised, just from not having enough sleep and doing too much, being physically done.”

But the actress assured fans that she was over the worst of it and feeling much better now. “Honestly, the first day was really bad,” Storms reported. “And then every single day, when I sleep, I wake up and feel better than when I went to bed. So I feel good today.”

Please join us in sending Storms best wishes for a speedy recovery. And thank goodness she was vaccinated so her symptoms weren’t any worse, especially since she had brain surgery back in the spring. Because we need to see what happens to Maxie next on GH!
