Lisa LoCicero Celebrates Her Grandma’s 100th Birthday!
Turning 100 years old is a birthday that very few people reach. So it was kind of a big deal for GENERAL HOSPITAL star Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) and her family when the actress’ gorgeous grandmother, Eugenia, reached that phenomenal milestone on April 12!
“My grandma, Gene, is officially 100!” the GH star cheered on Instagram, sharing a photo of the family matriarch blowing out the trio of numbered candles on her birthday cake. LoCicero punctuated her post with a trio of praying hands, black hearts, and the hashtag “good genes.”
Later, in a follow-up post, LoCicero turned on the video function for a little chat with Grandma Gene in which she asked the centenarian for her secrets to living a long life. It wasn’t the first time LoCicero posed that question to Grandma Gene, and even joked that she needed to come up with new material. “We’re sitting here with a 100-year-old. And I keep asking you the same stupid question: What is the secret to living 100 years?” the actress prodded.
Grandma Gene’s reply was refreshingly simple: She lives her life “one day at a time.” Gene declined to give any advice to the younger generation — believing that they should “grow up themselves” — but did tell her granddaughter that despite feeling a bit under the weather for the first time in nearly 20 years, she’s satisfied with how her life turned out as she looked back on her 100 years.
“I’m happy,” Grandma Gene shared, admitting that there was one thing she wished she’d done more of in her life: travel. “But I became a widow at a younger age, and I didn’t think it would be fun traveling by myself.
“Travel when you’re young, see what you can, and relax when you’re older,” Gene concluded.
