Lisa LoCicero’s Family Mourns the Death of Their Beloved Dog

Tags:

Please join us in sending love to GENERAL HOSPITAL star Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) and her family as they mourn the death of their beloved dog, Zelda Twilight Princess. “Rest easy, Zelda Twilight Princess,” the actress shared on social media with some photos. of her son, Lukas with his pet. “Lukas named you when he was in kindergarten and a better family dog has never existed. 17 beautiful years.”

The name Lukas chose for their new family member was obviously inspired by the name of the 2006 Nintendo video game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. Though he helpfully dropped the “Legend of” and the colon to shorten it a bit (and we’re assuming they didn’t use her full name all the time, just calling her Zelda, usually…). Appropriately, in the game, the hero Link occasionally turns into a wolf.

LoCicero and her husband, Patrick Jann, are happy to let their kids name the family pets, because when they got a kitten at the beginning of 2021, little five-year-old Verity decided her name was Dr. Nova Hernandez! But Verity also loved their dog, as you can clearly see from a 2019 photo where she’s dressed Zelda Twilight Princess up like the princess she is! “The indignities of being Zelda Twilight Princess…” LoCicero joked, adding the hashtag “#GoodDog.”

The comments to LoCicero’s post quickly filled with condolences from fans and friends, including some of her GH castmates. “RIP ZTP,” Johnny Wactor (Brando) wrote. And the actress’ TV son, Easton Rocket Sweda (Leo) expressed: “I”m sorry to hear your dog passed away” with a crying emoji. “Aww, Zelda!” tweeted LoCicero’s other TV son, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) . “No! Sorry, Lisa.” Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) and William deVry (ex-Julian) also expressed their sympathies on Twitter.

Our thoughts are with Locicero, her husband, and her kids as they mourn the loss of their beloved family member.
