Rena Sofer Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL!

Tags:

Get ready for a blast from the past! Rena Sofer is returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Lois! People is reporting that the actress taped her first scenes at the ABC soap this week and will first air sometime in October.

Sofer became a soap star when she created the fan-favorite character of Lois Cerullo on GH back in 1993 and she remained with the soap until 1996, though she did return for two brief stints in 1997. She also won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1995 for her work. When Lois was brought back to the canvas from 2004-05, the role was played by actress Lesli Kay (ex-Felicia, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL; Molly, AS THE WORLD TURNS).

After leaving daytime, Sofer went on to guest in primetime series like ELLEN, SPIN CITY, and FRIENDS. She also played Eve on MELROSE PLACE, Grace on THE CHRONICLE, Vicki on JUST SHOOT ME, Susan on COUPLING, Christine on BLIND JUSTICE, and Marilyn on 24. in 2013, the actress returned to soaps when she joined B&B in the newly-created role of Quinn Fuller. As soon as she announced her decision to leave the CBS sudser in August 2022, fans were hopeful this would mean a return to Port Charles.

Lois’ return comes at the perfect time as her ex-husband, Ned, is currently experiencing amnesia and believing himself to be his alternate rock star persona, Eddie Maine. His current wife, Olivia, is slowly adjusting to the unusual situation and even seems to be warming towards this new personality, so Lois reentering the picture would certainly turn things up a few notches!

Stay tuned to see what other twists and turns lay ahead!
