Robert Palmer Watkins Shared the Sweetest Birthday Message With Himself

Tags:

Fans loved Robert Palmer Watkins as Dillon on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but the actor admitted that he doesn’t always love himself in an inspirational Instagram post where he sent a very special message to his younger self. Posting an adorable photo of himself as a little boy in a cowboy hat and Ninja Turtles sweatshirt, Watkins shared some words of wisdom on his birthday.

“Hey, little man, let me talk to me right now,” he wrote. “I’m pretty used to beating myself down, finding my flaws, judging my past mistakes, and worrying about every aspect of what it means to be me. Today is my birthday. So I wanna talk to little Rob. I’m proud of you. I don’t give you enough credit. I’m constantly finding your faults and comparing you to everyone else.

“When I see this pic I remember how far you have come,” Watkins continued. “You have a good heart, kid. No matter what trouble you get yourself into, that heart always finds its way. Keep letting that be your guide in your years to come. I love you, Rob. Keep going. You have amazing people around you and you owe it to them and yourself to leave an impact. Happy birthday.”

Watkins made quite a splash with fans when he joined GH as Dillon Quartermaine in 2015, and they were sad when the character was written out in 2017. But the actor can still be seen on TV in series like GREEN VALLEY and THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND as well as films like Last Three Days. He’s also been working on his music, some of which you can find on his Funk it Friday YouTube channel

The words that the handsome and talented performer gave to his younger self are something that we should all remember and take to heart ourselves. And we can’t wait to see what Watkins does next, so stay tuned for more!
