GH Alum Robert Palmer Watkins Releases His First Single!
The wait is over! GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon) has finally released the first single under his new nom de plume, Palmer! “My first ever original Palmer single drops tonight!” he enthused hours before the song’s release at midnight on May 28. “‘Waiting’ will be on all platforms and I can’t wait for y’all to hear it.”
Back in April, the actor/musician announced that he’d signed a record deal with producer Brendan Martin (a.k.a. B Martin) and his label, Purpose Driven Artists. And now “Waiting’ has been released for everyone to listen to and enjoy. Watkins has said that this first single “was written about a past relationship of mine. She lived in Atlanta, I was in L.A., and both being in the industry, we were always waiting on each others’ calls. There’s so much truth living inside this record that I feel like anybody can relate to it.”
GH fans already knew Watkins was musically inclined from his previous music videos on YouTube as well as his memorable performances at the soap’s annual Nurses Ball benefit concert. But “Waiting” is only the beginning of Palmer’s new music career. “New singles and videos dropping every six weeks,” he promised. “It’s been a journey with my boy B Martin, but we are here and ready!”
You can listen to “Waiting” on Spotify and other music streaming platforms or just click play on the YouTube video below to enjoy the tune in full! And of course, keep checking back at SoapsInDepth as Watkins continues to release more songs and eventually, an entire album!
