Scarlett Fernandez Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

There’s a reason for your feeling of deja vu — the new Charlotte on GENERAL HOSPITAL is actually the old Charlotte! Scarlett Fernandez returned to the role in the July 28 episode making her first appearance on the soap since her exit in December 2021!

In the episode, Dante took Charlotte to the hospital to visit her mother, Lulu, who had been comatose since the explosion at the Floating Rib back in December 2020. An emotional Charlotte updated her mom on the latest events in her life, and pleaded with her to come back to them. After the visit, she told Dante she felt sad seeing his and Lulu’s old house still sitting there empty and thought someone should live there.

Fernandez originated the role of Lulu Spencer and Valentin Cassadine’s daughter back in October 2016 (although her exact parentage was a bit of a mystery for a while!). Following her exit in December 2021, the role was quickly recast with Amelie McClain. However, in April 2023, AnaSofia Bianchi took over the role, but it was only for one episode.

While working on GH, Fernandez also appeared in primetime series like JANE THE VIRGIN, LETHAL WEAPON, SHAMELESS, and AMERICAN HORROR STORY. And just last year, the talented young actress could be seen (in CGI form) as Young Kiri in the blockbuster sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.

With Charlotte suggesting to Dante that someone should move into his old house, that would seem to set the stage for Dante and Sam to move out of their apartment and into a proper home. Which, of course, would be the perfect time for Lulu to wake up out of her coma and come home to throw a monkey wrench into Dante and Sam’s happily ever after! But would Emme Rylan be returning as Lulu or would the soap recast that role again as well?

Stay tuned to GH to see how the story unfolds!
