Steve Burton Files for Divorce
The real-life drama between soap star Steve Burton and his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, has reached the next stage. After announcing back in May that they were separating, the actor is now ready to make the split legal and official.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Burton lists March 1 as the date of separation and is citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Back in May when the actor announced to fans on Instagram that they were separating, he revealed that Sheree was expecting her fourth child, but “the child is not mine.”
Burton and Sheree were married on Jan 17, 1999, and they have three children together — Makena (18), Jack (16), and Brooklyn (7). According to the divorce papers, Burton is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their children, and also wants the court to terminate either party’s ability to get spousal support after the divorce.
Best known for his role of Jason Morgan on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Burton was let go from the ABC soap when he refused to comply with the COVID vaccine mandate set down by ABC/Disney to help protect the cast and crew of their productions. He had also been seen as Dylan McAvoy on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS AND can currently be seen reprising his old DAYS OF OUR LIVES role of Harris Michaels on the second series of its spinoff, BEYOND SALEM, currently streaming on Peacock.
