Tween actor Porter Fasullo (Danny, GENERAL HOSPITAL) recently — unintentionally! — ignited a flurry of concerns among the soap’s viewers over the weekend when he posted a video on Instagram. In the vid, the 12-year-old was unboxing all the swag he scored at a kids and teens Oscars gifting event held in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. But it wasn’t the cool kicks and Roblox figures that caught the attention of Fasullo’s followers. It was the fact that the GH youngster who plays Jason and Sam’s son had his arm in a cast!
Fasullo hit Instagram again on May 3 to shed some light on why he is sporting a new accessory! “So, lots of questions about my arm!” he wrote. “It’s all good! I missed a landing on my scooter a couple of weeks ago and broke my wrist.” While a broken wrist is certainly no skinned knee, Fasullo’s injury, fortunately, didn’t seem to be too serious, as the actor shared that he is on the mend while thanking his followers for the outpouring of support. “It’s healing so fast! Thanks for the kind DMs and well wishes!”
Despite his right arm being casted above the elbow in a splint and wrapped in an elastic bandage, Fasullo isn’t letting a broken wrist sideline him as it heals. “As you can see, it hasn’t kept me from much!” he admitted. “Did you know that this same fracture is the most common fracture among boys ages 10-12? Just doing my part to keep up!” Fasullo certainly had a positive outlook on the entire situation, and even joked that the true reason for his injury was rather lame when compared to some far-fetched theories about how he broke his wrist. “I like the tiger-attack story better,” he joked.
Interestingly, Fasullo isn’t the only young member of the GH family who is currently healing from a common childhood injury. Back in January, T.K. Weaver — who played the role of Danny before the character was hit with a case of SORAS and Fasullo took over — injured his face when he took a tumble off his bike. Weaver had to have surgery to repair the trauma to his mouth and jaw but has been relatively quiet on social media in the weeks since as his face heals.
At this time, it’s not clear if Fasullo’s injuries will be written into Danny’s storyline, but a broken wrist is something that could easily be incorporated with a simple mention of an off-screen accident. Please join us in sending wishes to Fasullo for a speedy recovery!
