Fans who were delighted to see Jackson Montgomery on GENERAL HOSPITAL were even more delighted when Walt Willey confirmed that he was bringing his ALL MY CHILDREN alter ego back to the soap, and this time to Port Charles!
“Just a reminder that my next air dates on GH are this coming Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30!” Willey announced on X (formerly Twitter). “Please tune in! Can’t tell you much but will say: This is ‘old school’ Jackson, definitely ‘OG,’ baby! Can’t wait to hear what you think!”
Willey is grateful to all of the people who came together to make his return to ABC Daytime happen. “Thanks to Frank Valentini, GH’s executive producer,” he said, “casting director Mark Teschner, the cast and crew at GH, and the inimitable Lynn Herring (Lucy) for taking me on this ride and making it so damn much fun!”
The actor is also grateful to a former AMC castmate for giving him a place to stay while he’s in Los Angeles shooting GH. “And to old friend Michael E. Knight (Martin; Tad, AMC) for being the most hospitable host imaginable!” Willey declared. “And thanks to you for watching and caring and being so damn vocal to The Powers That Be about what you think!”
Willey first appeared as attorney Jackson Montgomery on AMC back in 1987 and remained with the soap until its final episode on ABC in 2011. He even brought the fan-favorite character over to sister soap THE CITY for a few episodes in 1996!
Willey reprised his role when Lucy and Felicia went to Pine Valley in the July 12 episode of GH and appeared again in the July 17 and 18 shows as the attorney caught the women scheming to snoop into his private files. However, this time, Jackson will be in Port Charles as he sues Deception for intellectual property theft. But the Deception team has their own lawyer, played by Broadway vet and daytime newcomer Carly Hughes, so he could be in for quite a fight!
Stay tuned to see how it all plays out!
