Watch General Hospital's 60th Anniversary Promo!

This year marks GENERAL HOSPITAL’s 60th anniversary, and the soap is starting the celebration early! ABC just released a special promo video featuring the stars that kicks off with Maurice Benard (Sonny) hoisting a champagne flute and declaring: “Let’s raise a glass!”

After some other actors jokingly react with surprise that it’s been six decades of drama in Port Charles, Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn) confirms: “It sure is! April first is our 60th anniversary.” And Genie Francis (Laura) adds: “Which makes us the longest-running drama on television.”

And while Saturday, April 1, will mark the 60th anniversary of GH’s very first episode, the soap plans to celebrate all year long. “So get ready for a year’s celebration,” urges Tabyana Ali (Trina),” because we’re not stopping anytime soon!”

Of course, Evan Hofer (Dex) and Eden McCoy (Josslyn) know exactly how they reached this impressive achievement. “Without you, this incredible milestone wouldn’t have been possible,” he reminds fans. And as Laura Wright (Carly) says, “Here’s to 60 more!”
