William deVry Keeps Fans Guessing About His Status at GH

Tags:

As soon as reports begin circulating online that William deVry was leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL where he has played Julian since 2013, the actor began playing around on social media. Like fellow castmate Emme Rylan (Lulu), who was unable to speak officially on her status with the soap, deVry has also been tweeting things that have kept the fans and websites speculating and worrying. However, to reassure some fans who were angrily calling for other actors to be fired instead of him, he insisted, “I have publicly stated I wasn’t fired.”

On Nov. 5, deVry shared a photo of the GH studio parking lot he captioned, “‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and Say Goodbye to Hollywood?’ Songs of the day?” The following day he tweeted a photo of himself in a thoughtful pose and reassured viewers: “Have no fear, GH fans. The moss in Sonny’s kitchen isn’t going anywhere. The moss and GH were able to sign a long-term deal. Rejoice!”

However, when fans assumed the actor was referring to himself signing a new deal with the soap, deVry quickly clarified. “I’m not the moss,” he tweeted, joking, “there just wasn’t enough room in the budget for the both of us.”

He then followed up with a selfie he took with Maurice Benard (Sonny) in his co-star’s dressing room, both actors safely wearing face masks. “He doesn’t know when my last day is but he’s already asked Frank for that day off,” deVry teased. “Nice guy, eh?”

Julian is in a very sticky situation on the show as his secret about helping hide the baby switch and nearly causing Brad and Lucas’ deaths by tampering with their car’s brakes is on the verge of being exposed. So even as fans worry that the character could be about to be killed off, it’s still entirely possible that deVry is just stoking the flames of the rumor mill to build anticipation for the upcoming storyline.

Unfortunately, as with Rylan, there has been no official confirmation or denial of his exit. And deVry’s tweets are starting to upset some loyal fans who just want answers. “Just having fun,” he assured them. “Life is short. Can’t take it all too seriously. I’m actually messing with the blogs that keep telling you what’s going on based on my tweets.” So who knows what’s going to happen next?
