Celebrate GUIDING LIGHT’s 70th Anniversary

The iconic television soap opera GUIDING LIGHT is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year so don’t miss a very special celebration in The Locher Room on Thursday, June 30, at 3 p.m. ET!

Technically, GL debuted as a radio drama back in January 25, 1937, but it was 70 years ago that it premiered on CBS television on June 30, 1952. During its combined 72 years on radio and television, GL became one of the longest-running programs in broadcast history. Sadly, the light was extinguished in 2009 with the final episode airing on Sept. 18.

The Locher Room host Alan Locher worked as a publicist for GL for many years, and he will be joined by writers Jill Lorie Hurst, Danielle, Paige, and Bret Staneart to look back at how they went from fans of the soap to actually working on it. Bring your favorite memories of Springfield and join in for a very special 70th anniversary live chat!
