DAYS’ Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith Say Goodbye to Christopher Sean (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

After four years as Paul Narita, actor Christopher Sean’s final episode of DAYS OF OUR LIVES aired on Nov. 20. And fans aren’t the only ones who are going to miss the guy. “I begged, bribed and threatened him not to leave,” Chandler Massey (Will) joked to Soaps In Depth, “but he’s got bigger fish to fry. I hope one day he’ll be back. He’s really missed, not just as his character, but as a person. He’s one of the most genuine, pure, good people that I have ever met.”

The other corner of the Will/Paul/Sonny triangle also admitted that he had mixed feelings about saying goodbye to his co-star. “You know, he’s doing super well and I wish him the best and I love watching him just crush it,” said Freddie Smith (Sonny), “but then selfishly, I miss him because he was great to work with and be around. As we get older, too, everyone’s doing their thing. Now, getting together for coffee and stuff seems like a good idea, but everyone is so busy. So I just miss being able to spend a lot more time with him. But I’m really happy he’s doing super well.”

During his time on DAYS, Sean also moonlighted in the recurring role of Gabriel Waincroft on HAWAII FIVE-0, and he’s currently voicing Kazuda Xiono, the lead character on the new Disney animated series STAR WARS RESISTANCE. But his time in Salem will always hold a special place in the actor’s heart. “I am so honored to have the opportunity to bring Paul Narita to life,” he posted to Instagram, “a Japanese American gay professional baseball player. Representation is so important because we all have an equal place and we all are an important resource to America’s history, not one more important than the other.

“To all the cast and crew on DAYS, my extended family, Thank you!” Sean added. “I’ve grown so much with you and created such wonderful memories. To the fans, none of this would be possible without you. All my love and thanks. I will miss you all, my home, my beginning. Until next time.”
