Ian Buchanan Enjoys a Bold and Beautiful Reunion in Italy!
The stars of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL were recently in Rome for a special location shoot and we already shared a bunch of photos they took of their trip. But it turns out that a former star of the CBS soap also snapped tons of pics in Italy, including one where he reunited with an old castmate!
“When in Rome,” joked Ian Buchanan (ex-James) when he shared a lovely photo of himself with partner Antonio Hendricks and friend and former co-star Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke). Rome was just one of the stops on the couple’s recent tour of Italy that saw them enjoying the sights in Capri, Napoli, and Sorrento as well. Hopefully, Buchanan got to reconnect with the rest of the actors, too, while their paths were crossing!
Buchanan made his daytime debut back in 1986 playing Duke Lavery on ABC sudser GENERAL HOSPITAL and also made appearances on PORT CHARLES as Joshua Temple, ALL MY CHILDREN as Dr. Greg Madden, and DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Ian McAllister.
After exiting GH in 1989, Buchanan joined the cast of B&B in 1993 as Dr. James Warwick, and played the psychiatrist until 1999, though he has returned multiple times for appearances in the years that followed. His most recent stint was back in 2017 when Eric called the shrink in for an honest assessment of Sheila’s condition (though she naturally blackmailed James into lying to back up her story!).
Sadly, it’s unlikely that Buchanan would actually make an appearance in the B&B episodes set in Rome, though it would be fun to have Brookerandomly run into James in front of the Piazza Navona while doing a Forrester fashion show! Still, it has made a lot of fans wish that the soap would bring the actor back to the soap for another visit. Imagine what James might make of Sheila’s most recent schemes!
