Get ready for another crossover! THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star John McCook will be making another return to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS beginning on Monday, June 14! His character of Eric Forrester will be sharing scenes with former B&B castmate Courtney Hope, who brought her character of Sally Spectra over to Y&R in November 2020 after three years on B&B.
“It’s about Sally coming to L.A. to visit Eric but it was shot on Y&R’s balcony, where they put up a very nice set that’s supposed to be an outdoor patio at Forrester Creations,” McCook told Soap Opera Digest. “That meant sharing scenes with Courtney, who used to be on B&B for years, so it wasn’t like I was working with someone new or who identified as Y&R. I really enjoyed working with her again.”
McCook has been starring as the Forrester patriarch since B&B’s premiere back in 1987, but he made his daytime debut back in 1976 playing Y&R’s Lance Prentiss. In addition, the actor has brought Eric over to Genoa City a handful of times over the years. “I think crossing over is a wonderful wrinkle for us to do as much as possible,” he noted. “It’s a really unique way for these two soaps to connect across the country.”
In January 2021, the sister soaps shared characters when Y&R’s Hunter King (Summer) and Michael Mealor (Kyle) crossed over to B&B, and B&B’s Don Diamont (Bill) made an appearance on Y&R where he once played Brad Carlton for years. Sally moved to Genoa City for a fresh start but can’t seem to put her past behind her, so the crossovers continue!
Sally’s visit to Forrester is slated to air on Monday, June 14, and she will continue to keep in contact with Eric via video chats, so McCook will be making virtual appearances on Y&R for a couple more episodes during that week. Stay tuned to see if Sally can get what she’s after from Eric!
