Camryn Grimes Returns as Cassie to Y&R

Look for Camryn Grimes to be playing double in an upcoming episode of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! The actress, who now plays Mariah Copeland on the soap, is set to reprise her role of Cassie Newman! “This is what I was excited about and couldn’t say!” she tweeted after the news broke.

Longtime fans of Y&R will recall Grimes’ Emmy-winning portrayal of Sharon and Nick’s daughter from 1997 until the young woman’s tragic death in 2005. In the years that followed, the actress would occasionally reprise her role for ghostly visits to her folks and in 2014 returned to the soap full-time as Sharon’s previously-unknown daughter, Mariah.

So since she’s already on set, Grimes will simply switch gears and step back into Cassie’s shoes for a change in order to pay her mother another visit from the great beyond. And with Sharon preparing to undergo chemotherapy as she battles breast cancer, she’s going to need all the support she can get from her loved ones… even the ones who are dead!

At this time, the soap hasn’t released any information as to when this episode is scheduled to air, and with the recent preemptions due to CBS News coverage, that could still change anyway, so you’ll just have to stay tuned!
