Elizabeth Hendrickson Delivers a Baby Girl
Congratulations to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe), who gave birth to her first child with husband Rob Meder on on March 27, daughter Josephine James. The newborn entered the world at 9:22 a.m. and weighed 6 lb., 11 oz., measuring 20 inches long. “We are thrilled to introduce our little Josephine James Meder to the world — she’s perfect in every way,” Hendrickson told People.
The actress — who ABC soap fans remember as Frankie and Maggie on ALL MY CHILDREN and more recently as Margaux on GENERAL HOSPITAL — was struggling with the realities of delivering her baby during the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. After expressing some of her fears, Hendrickson shared a photo of the nursery she had decorated in anticipation as she went to the hospital on March 26 to have labor induced. “The last time I’ll see this room empty,” she posted. “We just checked into the hospital. We felt it was safest to get her here safely before Rob wasn’t allowed in the delivery room like they’re doing in San Francisco and New York.
“20 minutes before we walked in the door the midwives were notified that after delivery only the mother is allowed with the baby postpartum,” she added. “Rob has to leave. We are heartbroken but we also feel like I’m in incredible hands. My midwife, Didi, is a dream, and my nurse, Andrea, is so awesome! I know that I will be well-supported by everyone in the maternity ward. My heart goes out to all of the mamas that are faced with being separated from their partners during delivery right now. I really can’t imagine doing this alone.”
