Gina Tognoni Shares Her Beautiful Piano Playing
Soap fans know that Gina Tognoni is a very talented actress from her roles as Kelly Cramer on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, Dinah Marler on GUIDING LIGHT, and Phyllis Summers on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS (as well as the five Daytime Emmy Award nominations and three wins she has racked up during her career). However, some of those fans might be surprised to discover that she has some musical talents as well, particularly playing the piano, as evidenced in a recent Instagram video!
“When the season has you running around shopping for presents, feeling like you’re going too fast just wanting that peace… just sit back and let it be,” Tognoni captioned the lovely video of her playing the Beatles classic. “Let it be. Tune into His presence… sometimes I gotta do it!”
Fans and friends were quick to praise Tognoni’s skills at tickling the ivories, including former OLTL co-star Kristen Alderson (Starr). “Beautiful!” she exclaimed. “I didn’t know you could play.” Y&R’s Daniel Goddard (ex-Cane) declared, “Your talent is unmatchable,” Eileen Davidson (Ashley) enthused, “Love you, Gina!”, and Jason Thompson (Billy) said simply: “Lovely.”
Tognoni made her daytime debut as OLTL’s Kelly back in 1995 and after her 2004-09 run on GL, returned to the ABC sudser from 2010-11. Her last soap role was her 2014-2019 stint as Y&R’s Phyllis and her loyal fans are still patiently awaiting her next gig whether it’s in daytime or not.
Last year, Tognoni taught acting workshops at the Rocky Mountain Creative Experience, but who knows — perhaps more music is in her future!
