Shemar Moore Returns to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
A very familiar face is coming home to Genoa City! Shemar Moore is returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for a special appearance as part of the soap’s grand 50th-anniversary celebration! Deadline is reporting that he will first appear in the episode airing on Monday, May 8, though it’s unclear if it’s just for the one episode or a brief run.
Moore last appeared on Y&R back in 2019 in special episodes paying tribute to the late Kristoff St. John and his character of Neil Winters. This time around, Malcolm will be returning to town to reconnect with his daughter, Lily, and nephews Devon and Nate. So he’ll definitely have something to say about the recent conflict between Lily and Devon over the family business.
Moore originated the role of Malcolm Winters back in May 1994 and he remained with the soap until 2005, winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2000. When Y&R brought the character back onto the canvas in 2009, the role was recast with Darius McCrary until 2011. But when Malcolm returned for a guest appearance in 2014, Moore had reclaimed his role.
Currently, Moore can be seen starring as Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on the CBS primetime drama S.W.A.T, which premiered back in 2017. Currently in the middle of its sixth season, the show has yet to be renewed for a seventh. The actor has also welcomed his first child, a daughter named Frankie.
So mark your calendars so you don’t miss Moore’s special appearance when he returns to Y&R in May. And who knows what other surprises CBS still has in store?
