Scott Clifton Wrote the Most Beautiful Birthday Message to His Son, Ford

Anyone familiar with THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star Scott Clifton (Liam) knows that he is not only a talented, Emmy Award-winning actor, but the man also has a way with words. While he would normally put them to music as a songwriter, Clifton sometimes pens the loveliest messages on social media, such as on May 6 when he shared a beautiful post about his son, Ford, who was celebrating his fourth birthday.

“It’s strange to think you’ll never be three years old again,” Clifton wrote on Instagram. “Was I present? Did I appreciate you? Will I remember? (Will you?) I can feel the past pulling on my attention like gravity, and it’s tempting to mourn even the future: when the day comes that I pick you up and hold you for the last time, will I know it? Of course I won’t.

“And I suppose that’s parenthood — learning, forgetting, and learning again that I have failed to cherish you as perfectly as I want to,” he continued. “But here’s a secret, my son: You are always truly exquisite, and there will always be someone who knows it. Always. So when the Earth has done its next pirouette around the sun and tomorrow becomes yesterday once more, I’ll remember this moment and think, ‘I knew.’ Happy fourth birthday, Ford. I love you.”
