On Feb. 20, daytime icon Melody Thomas Scott marked a major career milestone: The Daytime Emmy winner hit her 45th anniversary with THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, where she’s been playing Nikki Newman since 1979.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, Scott declined a big bash in her honor, opting instead for a day of community service at a very worthy nonprofit organization: Project Angel Food, which prepares and delivers food to clients impacted by serious illness.

The Y&R star was joined by co-stars Eric Braeden (Victor), Lauralee Bell (Christine), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren), and Colleen Zenk (Jordan) at the organization’s Annenberg Foundation Meal Delivery Center to work the lunchtime assembly line. “To my beloved colleagues and friends who joined me yesterday by volunteering to commemorate my 45 years at Y&R, my many thanks!” the woman of the hour wrote on Instagram. “Love you dearly!”

Scott also had a special message for the soap’s viewers in honor of her four-plus decades in Genoa City. “And to my fans — It’s been 45 years on this extraordinary journey, and I am grateful you continue to come along with me! Keep watching!”
