Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams Reunite in a New Soap!

Get ready for a special reunion between two ALL MY CHILDREN superstars when Darnell Williams appears with Debbi Morgan in her new primetime series, OUR KIND OF PEOPLE! His first episode will air on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 9 p.m. ET on FOX, so don’t miss it!

AMC fans loved Williams and Morgan as Jesse and Angie on the much-missed ABC soap, but now the pair will be sharing the screen in a primetime sudser! (Unfortunately, not the highly-anticipated PINE VALLEY, as that series is still in development.) And Morgan admitted that when they were back on a set together, it was just like old times.

“We were shooting the scene when Darnell’s character walks through the door for the first time,” Morgan told TVLine. “It was the first time we see this character on the show, and I looked at him and shouted, ‘Jesse!’ The director had to yell cut and everyone fell out laughing. It was hilarious. I knew that wasn’t his name on OUR KIND OF PEOPLE, but I couldn’t help myself. We worked together for so many years as Angie and Jesse and that’s the first thing that came to my mind.”

OUR KIND OF PEOPLE is a new primetime soap from Karin Gist and Lee Daniels centered around the wealthy and ruthless residents of Oak Bluffs, MA, as a single mother tries to reclaim her family’s name. Morgan plays Patricia “Aunt Piggy” Williams in the series, and in the last episode, went to the police to turn herself in for murdering her boyfriend in the ‘80s. This is where Williams’ character will enter the storyline, although details regarding his role are being kept very hush-hush.

“I was beyond excited to work with Darnell again,” Morgan enthused. “He’s like family to me. We always have so much fun because we have such a close-knit relationship. He even gave me away when I married my husband, Jeff.”

So make sure you tune in to watch Morgan and Williams together again on OUR KIND OF PEOPLE, even if they aren’t Angie and Jesse anymore!
