Jordi Vilasuso’s Baby Girl Is in the Hospital

Tags:

Soap alum Jordi Vilasuso and his wife, Kaitlin, are once again asking for prayers for the youngest member of their family. Just two weeks after announcing that they had welcomed their third daughter, Lucy Noelle, the newborn is in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit battling the respiratory illness RSV.

In a joint Instagram post, the Vilasusos shared that little Lucy had been sick with RSV. While the respiratory virus is common and most patients recover on their own, RSV can be extremely dangerous to infants and older adults, or those with a compromised immune system. For Lucy, her case was severe enough to require hospitalization.

“Ah, friends, we come to you coveting your prayers yet again,” the Vilasusos wrote in the post. “I feel like all I do is ask you all for prayers or thank you for prayers. We found out Monday that Lucy had RSV and by Monday night, she had been admitted to the hospital with difficulty breathing.”

Unfortunately, Lucy ended up needing more than respiratory treatments and monitoring. “Things unexpectedly took a turn for the worse and she was moved to NICU with what the doctors described as a partially collapsed right lung,” they continued. “I am still struggling to believe this as I type.”

Vilasuso — who daytime fans remember from his roles as THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Rey, DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Dario, ALL MY CHILDREN’s Griffin, and GUIDING LIGHT’s Tony — and his wife welcomed Lucy late last month after a high-risk pregnancy and multiple miscarriages. Born several weeks premature, Lucy’s parents called her “something between a dream and a miracle” as they brought her home to join big sisters Riley (11) and Evie (7).

“Please, please pray with us for miraculous healing for Lucy’s precious little body,” the Vilasusos concluded their plea. “We love her so much and just want her home and happy and in our arms.”

Please join us in sending well wishes to the entire Vilasuso family. We hope that little Lucy Noelle recovers soon!
