What Happened to Storm Logan on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL
It came as quite a surprise to many fans when Storm Logan was revealed to be Flo’s father on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL. But newer viewers might not even be aware of who this character is and what his history on the soap was before he met his tragic fate. Well, that’s where we come in! Storm first appeared in 1987 and was played by Ethan Wayne for a year. Then, in 1990, the role was recast with Brian Patrick Clarke for one more year. Wayne returned to the role on a recurring basis making sporadic appearances until 2003, and in 2006, William deVry joined B&B as Storm for a two-year stint, returning in 2012 for a one-off guest appearance.
Stephen “Storm” Logan Jr. was the oldest child of Stephen and Beth Logan, and older brother to Brooke Logan, Donna Logan, and Katie Logan. He earned his nickname because of his anger towards his father for abandoning the family. Storm was always protective of his sisters and mother, worrying about Brooke getting into trouble and Beth when she pursued Eric Forrester. When his high school sweetheart, Taylor Hayes, arrived in Los Angeles, they briefly rekindled their relationship and even got engaged, but Taylor called it off because she was falling for Ridge Forrester. Storm and Donna left for San Fransisco where he practiced law, occasionally returning for family events.
In 2006, Storm returned to defend Taylor, who was on trial for the death of Darla Forrester. Then he was hired by Nick Marone to work as Forrester Creation’s legal staff when the guy took over the company, and even kept his job when Eric and Stephanie regained control of the family business. Storm also represented Brooke when she lost custody of her children, Hope and R.J.. He was decidedly upset when Donna invited their father, Stephen, back to support Brooke. When Stephanie was shot at a Forrester fashion show, Stephen was arrested, but it was really Storm who took revenge on her for the way she’d always treated Brooke, and he’d framed his father for the crime. When Stephanie learned the truth, Brooke and Katie convinced her to stay quiet, promising Storm was getting psychiatric treatment for his issues.
Storm was smitten with new hire Ashley Abbott in 2008 after Brooke fixed them up. But Ashley broke it off after she heard what he’d done to Stephanie. When he went to her home to convince her he was a changed man, he pulled out the same gun he’d used to shoot Stephanie! Seeing this through the windows, Katie feared he might shoot Ashley and went in to stop him. As they struggled for the gun, it went off and Katie was shot. Learning his sister wouldn’t survive without a heart transplant, a devastated Storm shot himself so that Katie could receive his heart.
In 2012, Storm made a spectral appearance when Katie had a near-death experience after giving birth to Will Spencer, and he assured her it wasn’t her time to die yet. In April of 2019, Storm was mentioned when Flo’s DNA test revealed that he was her biological father. Storm may be gone, but with so much family still around, he’ll never be forgotten.
