DAYS Actor Cody Longo’s Cause of Death Revealed

Former DAYS OF OUR LIVES actor Cody Longo (ex-Nicholas) died in February and now an autopsy report has finally revealed the cause of death. According to TMZ, a medical examiner reports that the actor and musician died of “chronic ethanol abuse” and that his manner of death was natural.
Longo’s family had previously told the outlet that he had struggled with alcohol abuse for many years and had gone to rehab in the summer of 2022. When Longo was found dead in bed at a residence in Austin, TX, the autopsy says that the scene was littered with alcohol bottles.
After appearing in movies like Bring It On: Fight to the Finish and Fame as well as primetime series like MAKE IT OR BREAK IT and BROTHERS & SISTERS, Longo made his daytime debut as Nicholas Alamain on DAYS in 2011. It was only a brief run as Nicholas soon left Salem with his mother, Carly.

Later, Longo starred as Eddie Duran in the Nick at Nite series HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS alongside some familiar soap faces like Brittany Underwood (Langston, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) and Melissa Ordway (Abby, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS). In addition to acting in numerous films and television series, Longo also pursued a music career, forming the band Forever the Day and then embarking on a solo career, releasing multiple singles.
Longo is survived by his wife, Stephanie Clark, and their three children. Our thoughts continue to be with them during this difficult time.
