Victoria Konefal Confirms She’s Leaving DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Another high-profile exit has been confirmed as Victoria Konefal reveals she’s leaving DAYS OF OUR LIVES where she has played Ciara since 2017. “I cherish every moment I have spent working on DAYS,” she said in a statement to Deadline. “It is an honor and a privilege to work in an environment filled with so much talent and passion in every direction. The experience and knowledge I’ve accumulated over the past three years is irreplaceable and I’m forever grateful for it. I would love the opportunity to continue working with my castmates in the future, but at this time I will not be returning as a full-time cast member.
“To the cast and crew, it was an absolute pleasure working with you,” Konefal continued. “To the loving and unwaveringly supportive fans, thank you. Thank you for joining me on my journey of finding Ciara Brady. It was a beautiful one. Cheers to some of the best days of my life.”
Konefal took over the role of Ciara in December 2017 and recently became one-half of a very popular couple with Robert Scott Wilson’s Ben. The character was previously played from 2015-16 by actress Vivian Jovanni. Before that, Bo and Hope’s daughter was played by a series of child actresses. Reports say that Konefal’s exit is not connected to the exit of her on-screen mother, played by the departing Kristian Alfonso. Greg Vaughan (Eric) has also added his name to the list of actors leaving the NBC soap in the near future which includes Chandler Massey (Will), Freddie Smith (Sonny), and Galen Gering (Rafe).
Because DAYS taped so far ahead, brand-new episodes have continued to air throughout the COVID-19 pandemic even though production has been shut down. There is no confirmation as to when Konefal will last air as Ciara, but it should be sometime in the next few months. However, as the actress stated, she’s leaving as a full-time member, which doesn’t rule out future guest appearances down the line. So stay tuned to see how Ciara exits the canvas, and whether or not she’ll be back one day!
