Emme Rylan Explains Why She’s Living in St. Louis

Tags:

Fans love interacting with Emme Rylan on social media, but given their fervent desire for her to come back to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Lulu, the actress and mom also finds herself fielding their concerns because she’s not actually living in California anymore.

“Pretty much every time I post I get a lot of questions about whether we are living in St. Louis,” Rylan declared in an Instagram Story. “We are living in St. Louis like, pretty much for this school year. And we’re traveling around and we’re visiting tons of family that we haven’t seen since before COVID and just kind of taking a break outside of Los Angeles.”

Rylan made her daytime debut playing Lizzie Spaulding on GUIDING LIGHT from 2006-09, after which she joined the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as the new Abby Newman in 2010. When she ultimately exited the CBS sudser in 2013, the actress was hired by GH to take over the role of Lulu Spencer. And ever since her last episode in December 2020, fans have been waiting for Lulu to wake up from her coma and come home.

After leaving GH, Rylan and her family — partner Don Money and kids Levi, Jackson, and Dakota — went on a road trip and then bounced around a bit before settling in St. Louis (and having the best time). However, the actress continues to assure fans that their living situation has no impact on their careers.

“Everything I do is from home,” Rylan explained. “Everything Don does is from home. Absolutely nothing changes work-wise for us. The strike is still going on for actors, so… Yes, I’m here in St. Louis. Yes, my kids are going to school in St. Louis. Yes, it’s really positive for my family and no, it changes absolutely nothing about work or our availability to work or anything. We’re just gonna travel.”

Whether or not GH is planning to revive Lulu remains to be seen, but Rylan’s fans can rest easy that if the soap ever does call her up, she’s ready to answer!
