GENERAL HOSPITAL Resumes Production!
All good things must come to an end. Summer vacation is over and the cast and crew of GENERAL HOSPITAL are now back at work producing more drama for our entertainment! “Excited to be back with the GH cast and crew!” executive producer Frank Valentini tweeted on July 26 with a selfie he snapped just outside the studio building.
You’ll notice he purposefully took his pick right in front of a commemorative plaque honoring the 25th anniversary of Luke and Laura’s iconic wedding back in 2006! And Finola Hughes (Anna) retweeted her boss’ pic and happily added: “We are excited to be back!”
GH shuts down for a few weeks every summer to give everyone working on the long-running soap some time to relax and recharge. And everyone took advantage of their free time to enjoy themselves on vacation. Laura Wright (Carly) and real-life beau Wes Ramsey (ex-Peter) shared a bunch of photos from their amazing family trip to Colorado (which unfortunately ended with them catching COVID). And other stars also enjoyed some European vacations, including Kelly Thiebaud (Britt), who spent some time with her new boyfriend.
The same day that Valentini tweeted his return to the GH studio, Wright shared a snap of the pool where she was resting and recovering from COVID. “Just a couple more days of this before I head back to Port Charles,” she teased.
Because the cast and crew work so hard to shoot enough episodes, many fans aren’t even aware that they take a lengthy vacation at the beginning of the summer because the drama keeps coming to them every weekday. (Well, aside from those darn preemptions for news coverage…) So make sure you keep watching because with Trina’s trial continuing, Esme plotting with Ryan, Britt and Cody clashing, Willow keeping her secret from Michael, and Anna and Valentin finally giving in to passion, there is plenty more drama to come!
