Scarlett Fernandez Shares Good News About Her Recovery!
It’s been nearly two months since GENERAL HOSPITAL actress Scarlett Fernandez (Charlotte) broke both of her arms in a bicycle crash. Over the past few weeks, the cutie has been updating her Instagram followers on her recovery process, and her most recent post was the best news yet!
Decked out in a star-patterned tank top and jean shorts with her blonde hair in summer-worthy braided pigtails, Fernandez posed on a lakeside dock in the Snake Valley Wine Region of Idaho. “Only one more week of these arm braces, and then I plan to finish out my summer with all kinds of fun (and safe) things!” Fernandez posted. “What should I do?”
The young GH star started off her broken arms journey with long casts that covered the length of both her arms, from her upper arms all the way to her hands. The long casts kept her arms immobilized as Fernandez recovered from the surgery she had immediately after the bike accident. Thankfully, after a few weeks in the full-arm casts, Fernandez was moved to shorter casts on both arms, which covered from her hands to just below her elbow.
Having shorter casts definitely made moving around — and doing things for herself! — much easier for Fernandez, who will celebrate her 12th birthday on August 4. And by July 4, she was even one step closer to a full recovery when her casts were removed and replaced with arm braces. And since Fernandez has just one more week left of the braces on her arms, that means that she will (hopefully!) be able to celebrate her upcoming birthday with fully healed arms! What a great birthday present that will be!
Thankfully, Fernandez’s real-life injury hasn’t had to be written into her storyline on GH. While Valentin mentioned back in May that Charlotte had moved in with the Quartermaines along with him, the tween has been enjoying all that the mansion has to offer off-screen. Hopefully, now that Fernandez is almost fully recovered, Charlotte will soon make an appearance. Especially now that her cousin and Cassadine rival, Spencer, is back in town!
