See GENERAL HOSPITAL’s A.J. and Michael Reunited!

Tags:

It was a blast from the past when former GENERAL HOSPITAL castmates Sean Kanan (ex-A.J.) and Chad Duell (Michael) reunited recently! “So good to run into my son,” Kanan shared on Instagram on July 10 with a snapshot of the reunion. Then he joked: “They grow up so quickly!”

As longtime fans know, the two actors played father and son on the ABC soap for a couple of years. Kanan joined the cast of GH as the new A.J. Quartermaine back in 1993, remaining until 1997 when the character was recast with Billy Warlock until 2005.

So when the character of Michael was born in December 1997, it was actually Warlock playing A.J. at the time. And he worked with Dylan Cash, the first young actor to play the newly-SORAS-ed Michael. Duell took over as Michael Corinthos from Drew Garrett in 2010, so he was the one playing A.J.’s son when Kanan reprised the role in 2012.

Of course, as fans know, although it was revealed in 2012 that A.J. had not been murdered back in 2005, the character met a more permanent demise in 2014 when Sonny shot him dead. Still, soap fans know that death is rarely a permanent condition in daytime, so many of them would love to see A.J. Quartermaine resurrected once more.

Unfortunately, a return as A.J. on GH would be a little difficult right now as Kanan is currently appearing on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL again as Deacon Sharpe. And while some viewers have expressed an interest in seeing that character once again cross over to sister soap THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, there’s plenty to keep Deacon busy in Los Angeles these days!

So right now, it seems like fans will have to be satisfied knowing that A.J. and Michael were reunited in real life, at least!
