Is Deacon Moving to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS? — Sean Kanan Speaks Out!

Tags:

Deacon recently returned to THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, but some soap fans would love to see Sean Kanan bring the character back to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, too! When the character of Diane Jenkins returned to Y&R very much alive, Deacon’s name popped up as someone who had helped her fake her death all those years ago. Unfortunately, it looks like Deacon is being kept plenty busy on B&B!

“Always loved working with the amazing Y&R cast and crew,” Kanan tweeted in response to a fan’s wish that Deacon would cross over to the sister soap as part of Diane’s storyline. He then joked: “I’m not sure Deacon can afford a bus ticket to Wisconsin.”

Kanan got his big break playing villain Mike Barnes in the 1989 film The Karate Kid Part III and made his daytime debut playing A.J. Quartermaine on ABC sudser GENERAL HOSPITAL from 1993-97. In ’99, he moved over to NBC to play Jude Cavanaugh on Aaron Spelling’s SUNSET BEACH.

In 2000, Kanan joined the cast of B&B as Deacon Sharpe and stuck around for five years. Then, he brought the character over to Y&R in 2009 for a few years before returning to B&B from 2014-17. Deacon resurfaced on B&B again in October 2021 and found himself getting mixed up in Sheila’s schemes while trying to prove he’d changed his ways and win back Brooke.

Brooke may have gone back to Ridge, but their marriage isn’t exactly what you’d call rock solid, and Sheila is still running around town causing all kinds of trouble, so there is plenty to keep Deacon busy over on B&B. Which is a shame, because it would be a lot of fun to see him stirring up trouble over in Genoa City again! Maybe one day…
