TK Weaver’s Mom Shares an Update on His Recovery!

Tags:

Five months after child star TK Weaver (ex-Danny, GENERAL HOSPITAL) had a serious bicycle accident that left him with severe injuries to his mouth and teeth, his mom has shared another update on the young star’s Instagram about his recovery. And, she happily reports, Weaver is doing amazingly well!

“So this picture has been touched up and we know that you can still see some of the damage to TK’s left side,” she wrote, “but his surgeons have been amazing and all his doctors are very happy with his overall look and progress. He’s happy with the way it looks so far.”

In the photo shared on Instagram, the left side of Weaver’s upper lip is slightly swollen, and you can see some damage to his lower lip and upper teeth as well. “We’re still waiting for the lip to fully heal and hopefully the scar to fade, but so far so good,” shared his mom. “The trickiest part was the lip, and we are still dealing with some dental issues, but we’ll get him where he needs to be.”

As a result of his facial injury, the young actor hasn’t been working often these last few months as he recovers. “On Zoom or FaceTime, it’s hard to tell he has an injury,” Weaver’s mom pointed out, “but it shows up on camera so he’s still not doing much.”

Weaver joined the cast of GH in May 2016, becoming the first child actor to play the role of Sam and Jason’s sons after a series of twins played Danny as an infant and toddler. Three years later, the role was recast with Porter Fasullo, who continues to appear as Danny. Since leaving daytime, Weaver has done voiceover work and has appeared in commercials, as well as on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! and Nickelodeon’s HENRY DANGER.

Back in January, Weaver’s parents shared that the energetic youngster had a bike accident while “just being a kid” and asked for prayers as their son recovered from injuries that required both stitches and surgery. Just a few weeks later, his parents posted an update that Weaver was doing well and healing faster than anyone had anticipated. And then earlier this month, Weaver’s mom revealed that he had broken a bone in his foot!

“Thank you all for your prayers and support always,” concluded his mom. “TK loved reading/hearing all your notes of encouragement.” Keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for more updates!
